I’ve been closely tracking Micro SD Express card prices since the Switch 2’s announcement, and it’s fair to say they haven’t been the most respondent to price changes, and that actual ‘deals’ on them have been quite scant.
Argos seem to have been listening to my calls though, as you can grab our traditional top value pick, the 256GB card, is £40, which is easily the best price we’ve seen on one of these cards so far, where it’s usually been £50 or over.
Micro SD Express is the way forward for Switch 2’s expandable storage against the older, now ubiquitous standard Micro SD cards that worked in the old Switch and a range of other devices given they are much faster cards – these SanDisk ones are rated for up to 880MB/s reads and 650MB/s, which make them faster by four times or so than the best Micro SD cards for Nintendo Switch were.
